Shakira and Sanz Still “Together”
Okay, so these two should just DO IT and get it over with! ¿A quién engañan?
Ever since the La Tortura days, Español Alejandro Sanz and la Colombiana Shakira have done nothing but drool and try to invent excuses to either sing, dance, touch, kiss (on screen, yeah right) or save the world…together!
After selling gazillions of records and winning awards, now they are “destined” to change the face of Latinoamerica, as a team.
They were recently spotted at the ALAS convention with the Presidents of Argentina, Mexico, El Salvador, Paraguay, and Panama at Columbia University to talk about new initiatives for the overall benefit of children across Latin America.
And new wife Sanz and Antonio didn’t fit on the plane. Sorry. Just them two.
Wonder if they got all bored in their 1,000 sq.ft. suites at midnight and decided to watch movies together…
Pop star Shakira to collaborate with singer Dania Youssef
The latest buzz is that the world famous ‘Hips don’t lie’ Columbian diva Shakira is planning to team up with Arab-American singer Dania Youssef to hum a song about Islam. In the past she has come up with amazing records and we hope she would recreate magic all over again. The pop star will work on the English portion with the help of composer Mohamed Saad who will do the Arabic part, and the video is planned to be shot in UAE. However the publicist of the pop star brushed this scoop as false and baseless. So we really don’t know what might happen, but our fingers are crossed and we’ll hopefully get to hear one of Shakira’s new songs real soon!
Make some room Shakira, it's Julieta's turn
On Thursday, Mexican rock singer Julieta Venegas' 2008 tour El Presente touched down at Times Square's Nokia Theatre. It was an evening that showcased the mastery of an artist who is radically changing the Latin music world. The U.S. leg of the tour kicked off at Boston's Roxy on Saturday, July 10, and it will soon be hitting Europe.
Located just off West 44th Street and seating 2,100 fans, the Nokia Theatre is a mid-sized venue for New York City, with a capacity comparable to its neighboring Broadway houses. From the outside, you barely notice the theater. But a stunning inside highlights architect David Rockwell's genius. As visitors enter the venue, descend the massive escalators, and stroll into the concert hall, they enter another realm. Over a paneled wooden floor hang four massive chandeliers. In the back, there is stadium seating, followed by a standing balcony overlooking the floor, and two side balconies that come against the stage. As the concert was general admission, my friend and I chose to stand on the floor directly front of center stage, a mere 10 feet away from Venegas.
